Answer:

Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFCs) and halons destroy the earth's protective ozone layer, which shields the earth from harmfulultraviolet (UV-B) rays generated from the sun. CFCs and HCFCs also warm the lower atmosphere of the earth, changing global climate.

Chlorofluorocarbons and hydrochlorofluorocarbons are fully or partly halogenated paraffin hydrocarbons that contain only carbon, hydrogen, chlorine, and fluorine, produced as volatile derivative of methane, ethane, and propane. They are also commonly known by the DuPont brand name Freon.

DISADVANTAGE-

1 - Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are a group of odorless manufactured chemicals. Because they damage the earth’s ozone layer, CFCs have been banned since 1996.

2- CFCs are also greenhouse gases that affects the environment by contributing to global warming.
