The Purvanchal ranges are the eastern extension of the Himalayas lying in the easternmost parts of India. These mountains are composed of sedimentary rock. They are covered with thick forests. The Purvanchal range comprises the Naga hills, Manipur hills, Mizo hills and Patkai hills.
