Chloroplast is a kind of plastids which are found in plant cell. They are respomsible for having chlorophyll which is an essential pigment of photosynthesis.

The leaves or cells which are involved ib photosyntheis are known as mesophyll leaves. Moreever chloroplast contain the two membrane coverings. Inner membrane is filled with semi fluid liquid known as matrix.

In matrix many coin like structures are present known as thylakoids. group of thylakoids are known as grana. thylakoids contain chlorophyll too. Hence chloroplast play a very crucial role in photosynthesis and maintaining the colour of leaves
