✍ They occur as free-living aquatic organisms mostly found in freshwater.

✍ They possess large number of cilia present on whole body surface. Cilia helps for locomotion and to Capture The Food.

✍ The cells are covered by Pellicle.

✍ Ciliates two different nuclei called Macro and Micronucleus. Macronucleus takes Part in vegetative functions and Micronucleus takes part in sexual reproduction.

✍ Asexual reproduction is by binary fission.

✍ Sexual reproduction is by conjugation.
