A number which has more than 2 factors is known as composite number. example -4 , 6 ,8 etc
Here 4 is divisible by 1 , 2 and 4 so it has more than 2 factors.
therefore it is a composite number

Composite numbers are numbers having 3 or more than 3 factors including 1 and the number itself as a factor.
Example ● 12 has 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 6 and 12 as factors whereas 2 has only two factors 1 and 2 and hence 12 is composite and 2 is prime.
