Crysrallind Solids:
• They have definite arrangment of atoms, ions, molecules in three dimensional
pattren
•They are identified by their SHARP melting point
•They posses specific order in atoms, ions, molecules
Examples : ionic solid,covalent solid,mettalic solid etc
Amorphous Solid:
•They donot have specific shape
•There is no regular arrangment of atoms, ions, molecules in definte pattren in entire crystals
•They donot have sharp melting point
•They do have some oderly portion calld crystallites
Examples : Glass,rubber etc

Geometry:
particles of crystalline solids are arranged in an orderly three dimensional network called crystal lattice, hence they have definite shape.
particles of amorphous solids are not arranged in a definite pattern, hence they do not have definite shape.
MELTING POINT
crystalline soilds have sharp melting point ,this is because attractive forces between particles are long range and uniform.these forces break down at the same instant , at melting point.
amorphous solids melt over a wide range of temperature i.e they do not have sharp melting point because the inter molecular forces vary from place to place.
SYMMETRY
when crystalline soilds are rotated about an axis , their apperance does not change i.e they possess symmetry.
amorphous solids are not symmetrical.
