Acute Diseases -- They appear suddenly, produce severe symptoms and last for a short period. They last for not more than a week and do not have long term effect on health.
Examples -- Common cold and cough, Influenza, Typhoid, Cholera, Diarrhoea, Malaria, etc.
Chronic Diseases -- The chronic diseases develop gradually and last for long durations even up to several years to life long. They cannot be cured completely. Their symptoms are mild but have severe effect on person's health.
Examples -- Tuberculosis, Diabetes, Arthritis, Blood pressure, Chronic heart diseases, Liver infection and kidney malfunctioning.
