Answer:

Decompose-rs  are organisms that break down dead or decaying organisms, and in doing so they carry out the natural process of decomposition. If there were no decompose-rs in the ecosystem then there would be no organic nutrients and all dead plants and animals would ruin the animal habitat.

If they are not present then, there will be too much accumulation of waste leading to foul smell and development of new diseases and no replenishment of the natural resources.

Decomposers are microorganisms that work on the dead bodies of living organisms and decompose them to their simplest elementary forms of carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, and others and send them back to nature.

Explanation:

  • Decomposers consists of microorganisms who work on dead and decomposed matter and break them down further.
  • These microorganisms include bacteria, fungus, small insects. In the absence of decomposers from the earth, the ecosystem would be severely impacted as the dead matter would not be broken down and the earth would lose its fertility.
  • Food production would stop and eventually the whole living organic world would cease to exist.
