DETERGENTS-detergents are the sodium and potassium salts of long chain carboxylic acid.
DEMERITS- detrrgents are made from chemical and are non biodegradable and hence degrades the environment.
REASON FOR ITS EFFICIENT WASHING-detergents can produce foam in both hard (salts of calcium and magnisium in water)
and soft water and therefore it's cleaning mechanism is better.
