What are differences and similarities between the sun, earth, and moon?

Differences

  • The Sun is made up of hot clouds of gases, but the Earth and the moon are simply made up of rocks.

  • The moon revolves around the Earth, the Earth revolves around the Sun and the Sun revolves around its own axis.

  • The earth is a planet, the Sun is a star and the moon is a natural satellite.

  • The Sun and the Earth doesn't change its shape but the moon continuously changes its shape( means it appears to be changing shapes).

  • The Earth takes 365 days to complete one revolution around the Sun and this time period is termed as a year. The moon takes 29.53 days(30 days for approx) to complete its revolution around the Earth and this time period is termed as lunar month.

  • The Sun emits its own light, the moon reflect the light of the sun and the Earth traps some of the heat and light of the Sun.

Similarities :-

  • The moon and the sun both don't sustain life as it doesn't have the necessity elements in it.

  • The Sun and the Earth both have hotter core, i.e. there surface is much more cooler than that of its core.

  • The Sun, the Earth and the moon all are situated in the same galaxy.

  • The Sun, Moon and The Earth are somewhat spherical in shape.

  • The Sun and the Moon have no change in weather, the weather is the same all the time.
