There are 5 types of motion:-

1. Rectilinear motion:motion in a straight line

example- boy moving in a straight line, a car moving in a straight line

2. Circular motion: motion in a circular orbit

for example- movement of satellite around planets.

3. Rotational motion :-motion around a fix axis

for example -movement of a wheel

4. Periodic motion: motion that repeats itself after fixed intervals of time

for example: movement of Pendulum of a clock

5. Non periodic motion- motion that does not repeat itself after fixed intervals of time

for example: the running of batsman between the wickets
