earthquake happen when vibration are caused by the movement of rocks along fault ( fracture that exist in earth crust)

as tectonic plates push against, pull away from, grind past, or dive under one another then fault zone are created

sometimes tension build up along fault and further movement can cause release of energy in the form of wave or vibrations in earth crust

earthquake can be measured by using richter scale

you can survive an earthquake by following methods

1 if you are in a building then exit building as soon as possible

2 never take shelter under any building, tree, or tower

3 park or any open place is safe
