Electrophiles are (mostly) the positively charged species that are attacked by the atoms or molecules with greater electron density(Nucleophiles) and there by form covalent bond(s) with them.
They have a tendency to accept electron pairs and hence act as Lewis acids.
Eg: H⁺ , NO⁺ , HCl , Alkyl halides etc.
