•The Delhi government sources 33.6 per cent of its total power needs from coal-based thermal power plants (TPP) that do not meet emission norms for particulate matter, sulphur dioxide and oxides of nitrogen as stipulated by the Environment Protection Act, 1986.

•Sikkim has abundant hydroelectric power potential and the State Government has taken steps to exploit this potential for revenue generation. The Energy & Power Department is fully engaged in harnessing this power potential in the State.
