An exothermic reaction is a chemical reaction that releases energy either in the form of heat or light or heat+light.
methane + oxygen ==> carbon dioxide + water (+ heat energy)
CH4 + 2O2 ==> CO2 + 2H2O + HEAT

lsb10: PLEASE MARK MY ANSWER AS THE BRAINLIEST
lsb10: ACTUALLY THE SUBSCRIPT IS NOT WORKING THAT'S WHY I EVEN WROTE THE NAME OF THE REACTANTS .......
