extensive properties such as mass and volume depend on the amount of matter being measured intensive properties such as density and colour do not depend on the amount of the substance present physical properties can be measured without changing a substances chemical identities

Extensive properties are those which depend on the size of the system. for example,mass,length,volume,etc. are extensive properties bcoz they change depending on how much of the matter u have. Let's say u have one kilo of sugar.you take away some of it. If u measures the mass again, u will find that it has changed. Hence,mass is an extensive property.
