why sea water appears blue in colour?


Anonymous: the colour of the water is colourless sea never appears in blue colours if it appears means the sky's reflection had fallen on the sea might be because of this

this is because the long waved light (red , orange and yellow ) absorbed in warer more easily than the short waved length (blue) which refected back and makes the water appear blue.
i think its just enough.

this is because the red orange and yellow colours which have high wavelength comparatively to the blue is absorbed by water easily where as blue colour wavelength is not absorbed which eventually reflects back and hence we see watet blue even though it is actually colourless....
