Fold mountains are formed when two tectonic plates of the earth collide or crash into each other and one of them gets pushed upwards.  

Examples: Young fold mountains (formed less than 100 million years ago )

1. The Himalayas in Asia

2. The Alps in Europe Old fold mountains (formed more than 500 million years ago)

3. The  Ural Mountains in Russia
