Folding- It is the process when earth’s two tectonic plates converge. The collision causes a part of the Earth’s surface to rise up, creating a mountain.by compression .
Faulting- In faulting cracks and faults are created along the earth’s surface. The fault causes one block of the Earth to rift away from the other or causes the Earth’s block to move up or down. Here convergence forms a mountain.
Volcanic Activity- Volcanic eruptions occur due the outflow of hot magma that is present at the core of the earth during the movement of tectonic plates. When it occurs undersea, the hot magma turns the water into steam and the solid part condenses on the sea bed.

These processes are associated with large-scale movements of the Earth's crust (tectonic plates). Folding, faulting, volcanic activity, igneous intrusion and metamorphism can all be parts of the orogenic process of mountain building.
