Fossils are remains of plants and animals which got buried under the ground, years ago.
And age of fossil can be determined by carbon dating method.
In this method the ratio of C12 to C14 is observed as C12 is non-radioactive, the ratio between C12 and C14 changes continuously after the death of animals and plants.
Thus, age of fossil can be determined by CARBON DATING method.

The answer of ur question is
Therr are the two ways discovered by scientists through which the age of fossils can be identified which are given below ÷
●When dug into the earth, the fossils closer to the surface are more recent as compared to the fossils found in the deep soil .
● THE fossils can also be dated by detecting the ratios of different isotopes of the same element in the fossil material.
