The conditions for  Democratic Elections

Explanation:

"Democratic elections are not merely symbolic. They are competitive, periodic, inclusive, definitive elections in which the chief decision-makers in a government are selected by citizens who enjoy broad freedom to criticize government, to publish their criticism and to present alternatives."

The conditions for Democratic Elections are:

1. Universal adult Franchise - to guarantee right to vote to all that is everyone should have one vote and every vote should have equal value.

2.  Independent Body - to conduct free and fair elections.

3.  Two or multi party system- to offer real choice to the people.

4.  Regular elections- Elections must take place on a regular basis so as to ensure that no government is elected for life.

5.  Fair elections- To check the use of malpractices and to ensure that candidate preferred by the people should get elected .
