What are genes? Where are the genes located?

All humans have genes. They are a set of instruction that determine what the organism is like, it's appearance, how it survives etc. A DNA has may genes. A DNA is located in chromisomers.

A gene is a molecular unit of heredity of a living organism.
they are found in almost all the cell's nucleus and are made from strand of DNA
