Answer:

☘ It is an artificial satellite, which appears stationary to an observer on the Earth's surface .

☘ The orbit of Geostationary satellite should be circular and Caplanar with the equatorial plane of the earth .

☘ The angular velocity of geostationary satellite should have some magnitude and direction as that of Earth i.e., the angular velocity should be from west to east and period of revolution should be 24 hrs.

☘ The geostationary satellite is very useful for transmission of TV programmes,radio Signals and telephone talks .

☘ Geo stationary satellite is also called as Synchronous communication satellites .abbreviated as 'SYNCOMS'.

✿ The examples for geostationary satellites are;

Answer:

Geostationary satellite:-)

lf a satellite is made to revolve from west to east with the period of revolution equals to 24 hours in a circular orbit concentric and coplanar with the equatorial plane of the earth, it's relative velocity with respect to the earth will be zero.

Such a satellite is called geostationary satellite because it appears stationary to an observer on the earth. When such a satellite is used for communication purposes, it is known as communication satellite.
