Good quality seeds are seeds which are clean, healthy and free from infections and diseases.

How you select good quality seeds ?

  • The seed must be superior than the other varieties of the crop.
  • It must be either 100% genetically pure or more than a 90% hybrid seed.
  • Seed must be able to germinate under normal conditions.
  • There should not be the presence of any disease causing microorganisms.
  • The seed must be dried well enough to avoid further loss of moisture content.

Explanation:

Best wheat seeds would be ones who's color, shape and size are normal (not brownish, oddly shaped, tiny or bloated). Apart from just the looks, seeds are also tested for their efficiency in germination (how many seeds from set of 100 would grow in plants when sowed).
