Grana are stacks of structures called thylakoids, which are little disks of membrane on which the light-dependent reactions of photosynthesis take place.
They are found inside of the chloroplast in stacks.

A number of organised flattened, membranous sac-like structures are found in the stroma of chloroplast which are called thylakoids. These thylakoids are arranged in stacks like the piles of coins called grana. Both grana and thylakoids are found in the stroma of chloroplasts.
