Greenhouse Effect➫ The warming effect of the sun on greenhouse gases like Carbon dioxide that act to trap this heat in our atmosphere.

Ex:- Global Warming

♦ It is one of the main factors determining the temperature of a planet.

♦ It act like a blanket by absorbing IR radiation & preventing it from escaping into outer space.

➧ Types 0f Greenhouse Gases are:-

❱ 0zone

❱ Methane

❱ Nitrous oxide

❱ Carbon dioxide

❱ Chlorofluorocarbons

❱ Hydrofluorocarbons

➧ Causes 0f Greenhouse Effect are:-
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=⤵

❱ Burning of Fossils Fuel like - Coal.

❱ Trapping of energy in the lower atmosphere.

❱ The chemical composition of the atmosphere.

❱ The total energy influx from the sun which depends on the earth's distance from the sun & on solar activity.

➧ Importance 0f Greenhouse Effect are:-
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=⤵

❱ It maintain the water level of the earth's surface.

❱ It keeps the Earth warm enough to sustain life.

❱ It prevents the melting of ice & restricts the polar caps to the polar regions only.

➧ Effects 0f Greenhouse Effect are:-
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=⤵

❱ Skin disease.

❱ Rise in sea level.

❱ Climate Change.

❱ Increase in earth's temperature.

➧ The ways to reduce Greenhouse Effect are:-
=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=⤵

❱ Reduce, Reuse & Recycle.

❱ Use Less Heat & Air Conditioning.

❱ Replace Your Light Bulbs.

❱ Drive Less & Drive Smart.

❱ Buy Energy-Efficient Products.

❱ Use Less Hot Water.

❱ Use the "Off" Switch.

❱ Plant a Tree.

Greenhouse Gases: Several decades ago, humans thought about the idea of altering the weather and climate to their own advantage. With that in mind, they thought of preventing the coming of new ice ages and producing more rains in places of drought.
