The horse latitude of the areas in the northern and southern hemisphere of the earth, lying lying between the two big two zones: between the trade wind and the westerly wind areas.In these areas, there is almost always no wind. Therefore, the sailboat of the early sailors wear stalled often weeks. The regions of the subtropical high was given the name horse latitudes because the sailors who transporter horse on their sailboats to their causes and characters overboard to save on provisions during the long period of calm. The areas where reported to be 'strewn with bodies of horses'. This is supposedsupposed to be one of the reasons why these areas came to be known as horse latitudes.
