What are hot spots inside earth's crust

Hot spots are places within the mantle where rocks melt to generate magma.The presence of hot spot is inferred by anomalous volcansim ( i.e. not at a plate boundary) , such as the Hawaiian volcanoes within the pacific plate.

refers to the surface expression of an upwelling column of hot molten rock from the earth crust
