Hydronium ions are denoted as H3O+
When an acid is dissolved in water, water molecule accepts a hydrogen ion of acid to give Hydronium ions
Hydroxyl ions are denoted as OH-
When a base is dissolved in water, base release OH- ion in water. (OH- is a resultant product of removal of one oxygen atom)

Hydroxyl ions are denoted as OH-

hello there !!
>When we dissolve an acid in water, it furnishes Hydronium ion(H3O+), as shown below:
•HCl + H2O → H3O+ + Cl-

>Hydroxyl is denoted when it is used as a functional group(-OH) in compounds while •hydroxide is the hydroxyl anion(OH-).
hope so this helps u :)
