Inert gases, also known as noble gases, are the ones in the far right column in the periodic table of elements. I’ve outlined them in red in this screen capture, which I copied from this link: Periodic table. They are called inert because they do not react chemically with other atoms to form molecules.

Inert gases are the gases which are chemically inert that is the not react with any other elements. They are also called noble gases.
