Hey mate ☺

____Ionic Bond____ is formed by the transfer of electrons from one atom to another.

In this one atom can donate electrons to achieve the noble gas configuration and other atom needs electrons to achieve the noble gas configuration.

____Covalent Bond____is the chemical bond formed by the sharing of electrons between two atoms.

In this both the atoms share their electrons with each other so that both attain their noble gas configuration. These ate of three types:

•Single Covalent Bonds

•Double Covalent Bonds

•Triple Covalent Bonds

Hope it helps you ☺✌✌

Ionic bonds when formed generate two oppositely charged ions. A positively charged cation formed by loss of an electron by a metal and a negatively charged an Ion formed by gaining that electron by a non metal.

In an Ionic bond there is complete transfer of electrons and not mere sharing of electrons.

Covalent bonds are those bonds in which two atoms share their valence electrons and forms a chemical bond. These bonds are completely different from the Ionic bonds as they do not involve conplete losing of a valence electron.

Covalent bonds are formed between two non metals whereas Ionic bonds are formed between a metal and a non metal.

Inonic bonds have no definite shape whereas the Civalent bonds after forming the chemical bond gain a definite shape and structure.
