Isomers are the the substances with same molecular formula but different structural formula.
The isomerization in alkanes starts from member 4, i.e. the first three members namely methane , ethane and propane won't have a isomer because we can't form branched chains with then, every arrangement of these members results in a normal long chain. Therefore we need atleast 4 Corbons for isomerization.
