Isotopes are atoms of same element having same atomic number but different mass number. The atoms have same number of protons but different number of neutrons.
For e.g. Chlorine
Atomic no = 17 ( 2, 8, 7)
Isotopes
Chlorine-35
Chlorine-37
Hope this helps....

Isotopes are elements which have same atomic numbers but different mass numbers. The mass numbers are different because the number of neutrons present in the nucleus of an atom of the element are different.

For example:- Hydrogen has 3 isotopes namely Protium, Deuterium and Tritium.

Protium also known as Hydrogen has an atomic mass of 1u and it's atomic number is 1.The number of neutrons present in it are 0.

Deuterium has an atomic mass of 2u and it's atomic number is 1.The number of neutrons present in it are 1.

Tritium has an atomic mass of 3u and it's atomic number is 1.The number of neutrons present in it are 2.
