Leguminous crops are those crops which fix nitrogen into the soil.This is a symbiotic relationship between the root and the nitrogen fixing bacteria.

For example :- Green beans.

LEGUMINOUS CROPS BELONG TO THE FAMILY FABACEAE.THE FRUITS OF THIS PLANTS ARE KNOWN AS LEGUMES.

EXAMPLES:-

Beans, peas, alfalfa, lentils. Legumesare plants in the Pea family whose seeds are found in pods. They have nodules on their roots that fix nitrogen in the soil, so any crop that follows them will have enriched nitrogen to encourage leafy growth.
