Lenticels are small pores comprising of cells having large intercellular spaces and are present on the bark of woody stems or in roots of plants.
They help in the exchange of gases such as water vapour, oxygen and carbon dioxide between the plant surface and the atmosphere.
The mode of transpiration taking place with the help of lenticels is known as lenticular transpiration.
