Answer:

local winds are winds that blow over a limited area. Local winds blow between small low and high pressure systems. They are influenced by local geography. Nearness to an ocean, lake, or mountain range can affect local winds.

Explanation:

A local wind is a wind that extends for a distance of 100 kilometers or less. Like larger-scale winds, local winds are caused mainly by differences in temperature. Examples of local winds include land and sea breezes, as well as mountain and valley breezes.

Hope my answer helped u with ur assignment!!!

Answer:

Local Winds

A local wind is a wind that extends for a distance of 100 kilometres or less. Like larger-scale winds, local winds are caused mainly by differences in  temperature. Examples of local winds include land and sea breezes, as too well  as mountain and valley breezes. However, sea breezes can form  along any coastline, not just over islands. During the day, coastal land is  warmer than the nearby water. The pressure decreases over the land, and a  pressure gradient develops between the ocean and the land. The pressure  gradient causes a cool sea breeze to blow inland.  The sea breeze is part of a wind pattern called a sea-breeze circulation.  The air rises over the land and flows out to sea; as it cools, it sinks to  replace the cool air that is flowing inland. As the diagram below shows, the  airflow forms a complete circuit—from the sea to the land, up, back to the  sea, and down again.
