Lysosomes are able to do this as they have powerful digestive enzymes able of spitting down all organic material. During the disturbance in cellular metabolism, as an example, when cell becomes damaged, lysosomes may burst and the enzymes digest their own cell, Hence, lysosomes are also called "suicide bags".
