Here is your answer ♥

Bacteriophages. ... Lytic versus lysogenic cycle: A temperate bacteriophage has both lytic and lysogenic cycles. In the lytic cycle, the phage replicates and lyses the host cell. In the lysogenic cycle, phage DNA is incorporated into the host genome, where it is passed on to subsequent generations.

Lytic and lysogenic cycles are the two cycles of reproduction in viruses.

The lytic cycle is the type of viral reproduction in which the virus that infects the bacteria, remains as a separate entity within the bacterial cell and replicates independently, after which it lyses the cell on formation of the matured viral phages.

Lysogeny or lysogenic cycle is the type of viral reproduction in which the DNA of the phage or virus integrates into the genome of the host cell bacteria in order to generate its copies. It does not lyse the host cell but replicates along with it, however, it may exit anytime and enter the lytic cycle.
