The nutrients are mainly absorbed by the roots along with water from the soil. Some of them are required in large quantities so they are called macronutrients. Some others are needed in required quantities so the are called micronutrients. examples of macronutrients: Nitrogen, Magnesium, Phosphorus, Potassium.
