Mango showers, or 'mango rains', is a colloquial term to describe the occurrence of pre-monsoon rainfall. Sometimes these rains are referred to generically as 'April rains' or 'Summershowers'. They are notable across much of South and Southeast Asia, including India, and Cambodia.

MANGO SHOWERS

  • Mango showers is an informal phrase to define the happening of pre-monsoon rainfall. Sometimes, these rains are pertained to generically as ‘April rains’ and also ‘Summer showers’. They are significant across much of South and Southeast Asia, encompassing India, and Cambodia. In southern Asia, these rains vastly impact human activities due to the influence of the rains on crops that are culturally substantial such as mangoes and coffee.
  • These rains commonly arise from March to April, although their appearance is frequently difficult to foresee. Their intensity can vary from light showers to massive and persistent thunderstorms.
