what are marginal groups?

These are the groups which are kept aside by the society and they don't get much opportunities.. ( employments) e. g : Muslims, Christians. Etc. And their population is less than the country's total population.

According to my view it means A smaller group in a large society that has not join the mainstream party due to a difference of opinion.
