soaps and detergents consists of two parts with distinct properties one part or end consists of a large hydrocarbon tell which is hydrophobic that is water repellent the other part or end is negatively charged which is hydrophilic when is soap is added to water it doesn't form a true solution that is dispersed in a way that the ionic and unseen water and the hydrophobic part producing out of water inside water this gives rise to formation of clusters of molecules in which the hydrophobic tales are in interior of cluster and ionic ends are on the surface of cluster this formation with hundreds of soap molecule is called a micelle
