what are micelles? why does it form when soap is added to water? will a micelle be formed in other solvents such as ethanol also? state briefly how the formation of micelles help to clean the clothes having oily spots.

micelle will not be formed in ethanol. Because for the formation of micelle hydrophilic and hydrophobic end should be there. But the hydrocarbon tail is hydrophilic in ethanol. Therefore it will dissolve in ethanol. Therefore no micelle is formed.
