\bf{Mitochondria}

The mitochondria are tiny bodies of varying shapes and size distributed in the cytoplasm.

It have thier own DNA. The energy is required for various chemical activities is realised by mitochondria in the form of \bf{ATP}.

Functions :

1. They are site of cellular respiration.

2. They are able to make some of their proteins.

hey dear !!

\textbf{WHAT \:IS\: A\: MITROCHONDRIA}:-
It is an organelle found in large numbers in most cells, in which the biochemical processes of respiration and energy production occur. It has a double membrane, the inner part being folded inwards to form layers.

\red{job \:of\: the\: mitochondria}?

The membrane is where the chemical rections occur and the matrix is where the fluid is held. Mitochondria are a part of eukaryotic cells. The main job of mitochondria is to perform cellular respiration. This means it takes in nutrients from the cell, breaks it down, and turns it into e nergy.

The most prominent roles of mitochondria are to produce the energy currency of the cell, ATP (i.e., phosphorylation of ADP), through respiration, and to regulate cellular metabolism. The central set of reactions involved in ATP production are collectively known as the citric acid cycle, or the Krebs cycle.

\green{SHAPE \:OF\:MITOCHONDRIA}

Mitochondria are shaped perfectly to maximize their productivity. They are made of two membranes. The outer membrane covers the organelle  and contains it like a skin. Theinner membrane folds over many times and creates layered structures called cristae.

hope it helped u chotti.
