Modals are auxiliary verb used to express the mood or atitude of speaker.
They are always followed by a main verb ..
e.g.wil -would.
can-could.
may- might.
need -dare..

\longrightarrow The modal verbs are can, could , may , might, must, ought to, shall, should, will and would. Dare , need , have to , and used to also share some of the features of modal verbs.

  • They have only one form
  • They are followed by the infinitve of another verb without to. There are quite a few exceptions though.
  • Questions are formed without do/does in present and did in the past.
  • They are auxiliary verbs
