Something that is used to cut or shear something.. when we talk about molecular scissor it means there is a scissor that is being used to cut molecules… these molecules may be either RNA, DNA or PROTEINS..

So molecular scissors are nothing but RESTRICTION ENZYMES which are used to cut DNA, and RNA …
These are also called DNA SCISSORS.. these enzymes are very specific unlike normal scissors… They cut the given molecule at a specific position either producing a blunt cut or sticky end… Basically the cutting site is a Palindromic sequence…
