Answer

Mycoplasm

Mycoplasma is a mollicute genus of bacteria that lack a cell wall around their cell membranes.

Mycoplasmas are the smallest prokaryotic organisms that can grow in cell-free culture medium.

They are found in man, animals, plants, insects, soil and sewage. The first to be recognized, Mycoplasma mycoides ssp. mycoides, was isolated in 1898 from cattle with pleuropneumonia.
