NATURAL DRAFT COOLING TOWERS. Our natural draft wet cooling towers have been used to cool water, primarily in energy production, for almost 100 year. The tower operates on the stack effect which causes the hot air in the tower to rise (natural draft).. The necessary stack can be designed in various ways.
Natural draft cooling towers are in the shape of a Chimney in order to create pressure difference which is helpful in obtaining the air flow required for cooling the water.
The warm or less dense air is trapped within the cooling tower and the air outside the tower is cold and denser. Once the hot air releases from the top of the tower, the cold air isintroduced in the system.
The Natural draft cooling towers are prefferably used in cold and humid climate or during tough winters.
Mechanical draft cooling towers are another type of cooling towers which are used in place of natural draft cooling towers.
