Non-finite verbs are the verbs that donot get affected by tense, person or number like finite verbs. These verbs cannot perform action as a root of independent clause and cannot be used without help of other finite verb. Due to this property they are also called incomplete verbs. There are three (3) types of non-finite verbs :-
(1) Infinitives :- to walk,to prove,to eat etc.
(2)Participles:- walked, proven,eaten etc.
(3)Gerund:- walking,proving,singing etc.

____
verb are of two types
_________________
•finite verb- which changes according to the subject and tense
•non finite verb - in the sentence it doesnot changes according to the subject and tense
or we can say that
• non finite verb doesnot have any effect due to the subject and tense
examples are
___________
• i want to play cricket ( when we framed the sentence by uding I in the present tense its form is want)
• he wants to play cricket ( when we used He instead of I the want changed into wants its form changed)
• he wanted to play cricket ( when we used past tense, its form changed to wanted )
•Here want is finite verb as its form started changing according to the subject and tense
• and to play is non finite verb as its not changing according to the subject and tense,
non finite verbs are of three types
