Carbohydrates provide energy to body. Proteins help in making the new cells and building the muscles. Fat is deposited in the body and used in case body faces lack of carbohydrates (say deprived of food) by burning process. Vitamin A maintains eye sight. Vitamin B complex help in digestion. Vitamin C help in maintaining sound gums. Vitamin K checks bleeding by blood coagulation.
